This video shows the steps to create a free M365 developer tenant which can be used for your own testing and learning.  The tenant does not expire (so long as you've logged in every 90 days the subscription will continue to renew).  The tenant provides you with 25 Microsoft 365 E5 licenses and you can pre-populate the tenant with dummy users and dummy data if you wish. How to Add Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Subscription As a note, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint isn't available with a Developer Tenant; even though it includes 25 M365 E5 licenses. There is a way around it -  Go to the following URL (in a Dev Tenant browser session) to add the trial as a subscription - https://bit.ly/2YJrTou - you can then enable Defender for Endpoint Trial.  This provided me with a trial that expires in 1 year.  It will be interesting to see whether it renews with the default 'Microsoft 365 E5 Developer' subscription.

This provides a customised first login status which prevents the user from using the devices until Hybrid Azure AD Join from the Autopilot process. Credit to Arend Dieperink for gathering these details When Windows 10 20H2 was being deployed to Surface 3 laptop devices, we noticed that they received a Windows Hello toast notification popup after the update applied. When the user clicked on the notification, they were allowed to set-up Windows Hello (believing it was Windows Hello for Business, but it wasn't). It worked for the user, and they could log in with their camera or PIN. However, this couldn't be Windows Hello for Business. These devices are set up as Hybrid Azure AD Joined/Hybrid AutoPilot and the supporting infrastructure to support WHFB in a Hybrid configuration is not yet in place. Therefore it clearly cannot be WHFB. The Azure AD Sign In logs confirms that's the case, as the sign-in events using Windows Hello actually show as a password sign-in instead of using WFHB. Autopilot Configuration Summary Hybrid Autopilot User Driven VPN Deployed (user SAML connection at Win10 login screen) The Issue I recently came across an issue where applicable Win32 apps were not being deployed after an Autopilot build was completed. The 3 apps I set as required in the ESP profile were deployed correctly during the Device ESP stage but no further applications were deployed once the user had reached the desktop. Rebooting several times, trying multiple syncs and waiting several hours made no difference. MS Store apps were being deployed to the devices fine, and Win32 application available for installs initiated from the Company Portal were deployed correctly. In the Intune/MEM portal, the in scope applications would shows as 'Waiting for install status'.  That message could be for a multiple of reasons. As you may have seen from my recent posts on LinkedIn, I have been creating a new website called FootballPontoon.  It is a game you can play with your friends or work colleagues where each player picks a unique team from the Football League, pays a weekly ante and the first team to get to 21 wins the cash.  At that point, you all go back to zero and the next round starts. It is a good game to play and can even attract people who are not into Football as it is pretty much set and forget.  It was a game my wife's work played and I was always interested in her teams performance.  After hearing that it was managed manually (yep, someone has to manually enter scores for each team into spreadsheet each week!), I thought that it could be done better. So I created something pretty good which used Google Sheets to auto download results, calculate scores and then used Google Scripts to send out weekly updates and check for winners.
